The horse was trained by Barbara Heads and in the possession of Peter Redekop, both races were won to lead the points. J Dutton and Condy City rounded off the top three with mighty performances at both events.
Barbara Heads, which cited the coaching ranking, reflected: “He is an amazing little horse with a lot of ambition. It was a great opportunity to be in the Derby series and the best result I could imagine.”
The series will be completed again on the Hastings racetrack, where the BC derby is the focus of one of the most expected events in the Western Canadian racing calendar. Dawn Lupul, who represented the local racing community, expressed excitement about organizing the last leg. “We are content to welcome the best from the west of the historic Hastings Park,” she said. “Our local horse heads greeted the initiative with enthusiasm last year and are ready to organize a show for this year's BC derby.”
