The Hygain Revell Douglas Memorial Series for Junior Drivers starts today with Heat One on the Cambridge Raceway.
The cable harness racing series, which was held for the first time in 2022, became a passionate supporter of all aspects of the dishwasher and a highly valued employee of Hygain Feed.
The series consists of seven races at seven meetings in the north and south island, whereby the drivers accumulate points and the series winner receives a scholarship with the kind approval of Race sponsors Hygain Feeds.
Heat one of the series begins at 2:10 p.m., and Fergus Schumacher drove with Peter Brown -trained Irish Whispers (6), one of the early favorites for the race.
“He is a nice horse and drove pretty well here on Friday after being parked for the trip” a good cruise pace when he rolls. “
The Art major The gelding took second place here on Friday evening after a tough run in the parked position was well initiated in order to be beaten by Barbarossa only as a neck.
The driver Stephanie Burley, based in Auckland, is Matthew White, who was trained by Waiheke (8), who begins as the best rated horse in the race. The Freud mare of the Bettor finished third on January 9th in Cambridge when it was held back on the back of the field and made massive soil to end a racing winner of 2.9 length with Miki.
“I am very cheerful to have the journey on her, I drove it in trackwork and she is just an truthful mare who knows her job,” says Burley. “From seven I will wait to see what the runners inside I do and hopefully insert it somewhere with cover. “
“I like the Revell Douglas series because it is really open to all juniors and gives everyone a decent chance to win a junior series,” says Burley.
“This year will probably be my last than junior and I also work full -time as an accountant. Therefore, it is not always possible for me to pursue trips with labor obligations. It is therefore electrifying to have the opportunity to have a gap in the Revell Douglas series. “
“The races in the series are usually well supported and I look forward to heating the next cinemas in Hawera the next weekend.”
Heated two and three will take place on January 31 and February 2 in Hasea. The series then drives to the South Island, where germs are carried out at the following sessions:
February 9th – Methven
February 16 – Banks peninsula
February 21 and 23 – Cromwell (1 race every day)
