Inter -Dominion champion of the Locomotive (Muscle mass) Tomorrow takes the next and biggest step in his global Gurtracing adventure.
The star trained by Brad Hewitt is again in Melbourne after taking third place in the Australian Troter colleague in Cambridge last Friday evening.
Now the five-year-old goes to Sweden to tackle the world's best trotting race on May 25th, the legendary Elitlopp in Solvalla in Stockholm.
The first stage of the journey of the locomotive will see him tomorrow evening at 7.40 p.m. in a plane from Melbourne.
Mark Day, an uncle of Hewitt, will be the traveling groom with the locomotive, which is scheduled to arrive in Amsterdam on Friday (local time) at 1.30 p.m.
From there, the locomotive arrived there in Stockholm on Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
As two years ago, the locomotive will remain in the celebrated stalls of the former Champion-Trainer driver-Stigh-Johannsen.
The day remains and helps to give the locomotive to Susanne Frang, the partner of the Swedish driver Magnus Djuse, before handing over the caretaker training.
Hewitt said he would go to Sweden “about three weeks before the elitelopp” to take over the training.
“I am very joyful that Mark is going with him, he has had this stuff for 20 years and it is comfortable to give me the horse that the horse gets every chance to settle well. Mark took the opportunity,” said Hewitt.
“At this point in time, I will bypass the past few weeks to prepare it for the past few weeks.
“It is a mixture of great excitement, but also nerves in such a large challenge.”
Hewitt was satisfied with the way the locomotive held the final phase of the Tab trab last Friday.
“There is no doubt that he is much better at the front, like most horses, but he really dug in the house and showed a lot of fight,” he said.
“I know that he was hit in his last large races, but he got very good both times. I was certainly not disappointed in Cambridge.”
