Robb hopes that Parkes Sizzles Dürre Breaker can be (Sunday)

By Ray Hickson

It is very likely that Sizzle Minizzle will not be reached at the heights of his last victory for Country Championships 2023, but coach Brett Robb is confident that he can get back into the stand of the winner.

He has not won a race in the water since this annoyed victory at Randwick, but Robb warms up his chances of breaking this drought in the Parkes Services Club Cup (1600 m) on Sunday worth $ 40,000.

The five-year-old from 16 starts and the last three were in Queensland when Robb tested the water to see if he would measure up there.

What he found out was that he could possibly pick up a race, but ultimately the prizemoney incentives were not there. After running the sixth place on the Eagle Farm, he hit two weeks two weeks ago when he was targeting Parkes.

“With his benchmark we thought we would see if he could keep up with the city up there,” said Robb.

“We gave him a few runs and he is not quite with them.

“He could hit a blow and win one, but we thought we would bring him home while he was fit, he only walked around the other day because he rests for the same prizemoney.”

The Dubbo trainer said that a lot of Sizzle Minizzle's slump can be attributed to a long fight with some feet problems, but he has the feeling that he will win it.

The gelding, 5 US dollars with Tab on Saturday, has pulled Barriere two and Robb hopes that he can exploit an advantage for the first time in almost a year.

“He goes better than what he was, but still not back how he was when he won the country championships,” he said.

“We had large problems with his feet for 10 or 12 months, it took a long time to do it right, and we think we just got it.

“It must be in the right head space to bring his best foot forward.

“The mile will fit him, he was looking for it. He pulled a good goal and hopefully he can be closer this time.”

Robb said that after his fifth on the Tab -Autobahn (1600 m) at Scone on Saturday in the Parkes Cup after being close to the fifth on the Tab -Autobahn (1600 m) in the Parkes Cup, but I did not get into it.
