The course of the 2025 Preakness Stakes was unforgettable because the preferred journalism overwhelmed trouble at the top of the route and on Saturday, May 17th, in Pimlico, halfway in Pimlico.
Read the quotes after the race of the coaches and Jockeys who competed on the second jewel of the Triple Crown 2025 when they commented on their trips and how their horses were doing.
The winner of coach Michael McCarthy (journalism)-“Massive Day. I think when we were beaten in the Kentucky Derby a few weeks ago, I was upset, but it was not the end of the world. We have summarized and things were good today.”
“When I saw that (in the middle of the route), I thought it was another solid effort, and unfortunately he would only come a little miniature. In any case, he has the worst of it.
“Belmont (Stakes)?” We will find out. “
Jockey Umberto Rispoli (journalism) – (NBC show) “I still can't notice what this horse did today. I got into difficulties at the quarter rod and look, it continues. It's just about him. It is a privilege to drive like him.”
“It's just incredible. I won one of the legs of the triple crown and cry like a child.”
“When I cross the border, it's all 20 years of my career that I do in front of me. I had to wait so long to drive such a champion.”
Coach Brendan Walsh (Gosger, 2nd) – “I am disappointed not to win it, but I'm not disappointed with the horse. He drove a great race. He is an improved horse, and he will improve this today. Luis (Saez) came up. Lacquer adasical, and he was perhaps a bit too long and the other horse came over and flew past him.
Jockey Luis Saez (Gosger, 2.) – “Overall, it was a good trip. We had no excuses. Hopefully he will learn from it and the next race will be even better.”
Coach Mark Casse (Sandman, 3rd) – “I was upset in the first quarter because they went, but they recorded them. I have to look at the repetition, but he went well. He did the derby well again, but a good horse won.”
Jockey John Velazquez (Sandman, 3rd) – “We have a good trip, you know, try to keep out so much difficulties, and when we got on the quarter rod, I thought I was free, but he had to look around and stopped concentrating.”
Coach Bob Baffert (goal -oriented, 4th) – “He couldn't let his race run. I wanted to see him at the top, maybe he would have stopped, I don't know. He drove effortless. He was going well, but he's still green. Run. This is a really good horse.”
Jockey Flavien Prat (goal -oriented, 4th) – “Very disappointing result. Antone a great effort today.”
Coach Jamie Osborne (heart of honor, 5.)-“It didn't look halfway. He was ponderous again. I have a lot of sand on his face. Look as if it had been a disaster halfway back. But God, he is demanding. He has remained determined (the Belmont Stakes in Saratoga are 1 1/4 miles).
Jockey Saffie Osborne (heart of honor, 5.)-“He behaved very badly in the stands, and as a result he slowly jumped. You can obviously not afford to give a distance from the gates in such breeds. I have always tried to play.”
Trainer Todd Plletcher (River Thames, 6th) – “Stumbled a bit and went a bit wide there.
Coach Michael Gorham (Pay Billy, 7th) – “I think he had a good trip. He somehow got involved in the first round. I think he just got out. Maybe we have to step back and walk to a little lighter society.
Coach D. Wayne Lukas (American promise, 8.)-“When he was pushed and roughened a little, he threw his head and did not cancel us. A little bit.”
Coach Steve Asmussen (Clever again, 9th) – “It was demanding for him.”
