Nztr announces

The Fresh Zealand full blood racing (NZTR) has announced several improvements in Prizemoney for Jumps Racing, including the immediate increases that cover the rest of the current season (May to July 2025) and the full racing calendar from 2025-26.

The total investment of NZTR in 18 sessions and 57 jumps races during this period will reach around 2.57 million dollars.

The increases underline the persistent commitment of the NZTR for the development and promotion of jumps across the country.

The highlights of the revised operations include:

  • The raise in operations for feature obstacles throughout the season with increases between 15,000 and 50,000 US dollars per race.
  • With constrained Open Jump races, the operations of 30,000 to 40,000 US dollars are increased. In cases where these races are divided into separate events for winners and girls, the winners will compete by $ 40,000, while girls drive around $ 20,000.
  • The 150th Grand National Steeplechase is celebrating the 150th Grand National Steeplechase in Riccarton Park in Riccarton Park on Saturday, August 9th. The Canterbury Jockey Club will announce a further raise in this race in this race in the coming weeks.

These modern Stakes improvements complement previously announced strategic initiatives, including:

  • A shortened Jump racing season with 18 race days, which lasts from May 11th to September 21, 2025 and have been completed with an electrifying two-day event in Te Aroha.
  • A strategic shift towards non-roller racing days with nine of the 18 jumps racing days planned for Sundays, together with King's Birthday Monday and a feature Friday meeting on September 19 for the Great Northern Hurdle.
  • Version of event locations to improve the infrastructure and to reduce event locations from earlier seasons to seven locations. In particular, jumps will no longer take place in Rotorua or Waverley this season.
  • Introduction of the amateur series, which takes place mainly at JNC meeting and is completed on September 19 in Te Aroha with the prestigious Duke of Gloucester Cup.

In it Balcombe, Chief Operating Officer from NZTR, said: “These improvements offer the participants immediate advantages this season and support the ongoing development of jumps.”

“After our strategic review last year, we focus on improving experience for participants and fans when we act into the next season,” he said.
