The event attracted some high -quality mares, namely Aardiebytheaside, which in the form of Penny Black and Nullarbor Navajo.

Aardiebytheaside won this race last year and also won the Mares Classic in Gloucester Park in November and was supposed to repeat the success in this year's division of Empress Stakes.

Although she started quickly, she could not cross Nullabor Navajo and had to run outside the leader. Meanwhile, Penny Black was early and Gary Hall Jnr worked outside the field to finally sit in front of Nullarbor Navajo. Aardiebytheside got the way behind.

Chris Lewis on Little Darling placed six backs on the rails on the back of the field and in the last round she was still about 25 meters from the field and the last round.

Aardiebytheaside delivered nullarbor navajo to your home when turning around from nullarbor and she wanted to take a profitable break in the house. But Chris Lewis on Little Darling turned through the pack and spread her and she took giant steps to gather in AardiebythSeaside by one meter, with wonderfully flying and also very third.

Little Darling has always shown her ability for her trainer Barry Howlett and was second to the West Australian Oaks and in the classic Mares events in the Gloucester Park. It has now won ten races of 43 starts and over 262,000 US dollars in spiked money.
