Hong Kong strike early in Karaka strike

The Hong Kong Jockey Club met in Karaka early in the opening meeting of the National Yearling Sale of Novel Zealand Bloodstock.

The purchase agent of the jockey club southern hemisphere, Craig Runsefell from Boomer Bloodstock, was recorded by the stallion foal when he inspected it in Trelawney Stud, and he believes that he is an ideal view of Hong Kong.

“I think it's a tough start to the sale. It is a good group of horses here and luckily we had one of our top picks at the beginning of the sale, ”said Runsefell.

“He is a Savabeel Colt that is ideal for our program. He is a guy at the end of November, a later lovely guy. It is from a great farm in Trelawney, one of the best farms in Novel Zealand.

“We just loved him on the guy. He is a very sporty, sound -looking horse with a great temperament. ”

The Colt will now cross the Tasman to undergo its early education and is intended to go to Hong Kong, where it is offered through the international sale of the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

“He will drive to Australia into the border -free lodge and train up there,” said Rununensefell. “He will go for international sale in two years after Hong Kong and then go up there as soon as he goes through the sale.”

Lot 11, the Savabeel Colt from the three -strong indecision of group three, was bought by the Hong Kong Jockey Club for $ 625,000.

The Cherry Taylor from Trelawney Stud was properly enthusiastic with the result, although she said that the nerves were high, with the colt being sold so early.

“We are enthusiastic about parts,” she said. “Lot 11 is a bit nervous because it is on sale early, but we liked the Colt very well and the mare did it so well, her first two (foals) are both winners. Storm Front, who is Tony Pike Trains, is an extraordinary horse.

“This is just a nice guy, so I'm looking forward to seeing him racing.”

Taylor had expected a lot of interest in the Colt in the sales ring, but said that the price of 625,000 US dollars exceeded its expectations.

“We are very interested in our parades,” she said. “We thought the horse could earn 400,000 US dollars, but our reserve was 200,000 US dollars. We have always created low reserves so that we can launch them and people can buy them. ”

Taylor is looking forward to observing the progress of the Colt in Hong Kong, a racing law with which she has tough relationships.

“I have a long cooperation with Hong Kong,” she said. “My father (Cliff Goss) trained in Macau many years ago and one of my best friends lives in Hong Kong. We are up there all the time, so I am enthusiastic about parts he went to Hong Kong. ”

In the meantime, Runsefell beat again shortly afterwards and secured Lot 22, the Pro -Incanto -Colt from the draft of Elsdon Park for 160,000 US dollars, and the Australian bloodstock agent wants to be lively in the sale in the coming days.

“We will see how it will come out in the next few days. There is a good group of horses here and hopefully we will get a few more, ”he said.
