Henri Devin from Haras du Mesnil dies at 71

Henri Devin, who headed France's historical Haras du Mesnil with his wife Antonia, died at the age of 71 at the beginning of this week. Devin, a well-known owner break, inherited the stud of his grandparents Jean and Elisabeth Couturie.

Some of the best to name Mesnil are the G1 Prix de L'OPERA winner of the 2001 Terre a Terre (Kaldounves) and the G1 Hong Kong Vase and the G1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud winner Ant Gabriel (Kaldounves). Another is G1 Prix Jean Romanet Heroine Nonza (Zanzibar), Devin's son Henri-Francois, his first top score as a trainer.

Several stallions have introduced themselves to Mesnil's game, including the father of Group 1, Kaldounevees, as well as Turgeon and the leading national hunting content Dino. The latter currently leads the three -member squad in Mesnil together with youthful Sires Telecaster and Bay Bridge.

Henri is survived by his wife Antonia and her four children.
