Goffs publishes catalog for various Doncaster January sales

The Doncaster January Sale is the first sale of the year in the UK or Ireland | Goffs

The catalog for the Goffs January Sale 2025 in Doncaster, the first sale of the up-to-date year, which will take place on Tuesday 21st January, is now available online.

The catalog includes 179 lots with 93 weanlings and juvenile cattle from NH, 46 mares from NH and 40 horses in training. Supplementary reports will be accepted and can be made up until the time of the auction on-line. The NH Weaning Session follows on from the successful British NH Breeders Showcase in November and features another sturdy line-up, with 43 of the entries suitable for GBB.

The sale opens with a selection of horses in training, comprising an annual distribution of nine lots from Coolmeen Farms, including Eternal Angel (Fr), who finished second in both hurdle starts, and Ilfu Un Mome (Fr), who won his first PTP at Lisronagh before managing his first hurdles at Chepstow. The session will also include contributions from Alan King, Anthony Honeyball, Charlie Johnston, Charlie Longsdon, Emma Lavelle, Fergal O'Brien, Nicky Henderson, Warren Greatrex and others.

The day ends with a group of 46 NH mares foaling from fathers such as Crystal Ocean (GB), Golden Horn (GB), Jeu St Eloi (Fr), Order Of St George (Ire), Postponed (Ire), Stradivarius ( Irish), Walk In The Park (Ire) and more.

Tim Kent, Managing Director of Goffs UK, commented: “The January sale is the first physical sale in the UK and Ireland this year and it is great to be able to offer another sturdy range of NH weanlings alongside a 43 for the lucrative GBB bonus series to question Mighty father profile, there are many incentives for buyers. We have also cataloged a decent number of NH mares that boast some extremely attractive pedigrees, so there is plenty to sell to pinhookers and breeders alike. We are accepting additional registrations up until the time of the auction and will post them online as soon as they are submitted.”
