Gavin Callahan took a gigantic step after the Futurity of the National Cut Horse Association (NCHA) in 2024 and was hired by C4 cutting horses in Hampstead, North Carolina. He and Rebelische Little Sister almost made the move together. It was bought by C4 owner Kevin Smith during the future.
In Perry, Georgia, came together on January 13th during Augusta Futurity.
Colt Moore had trained the newborn mare and Callahan and Smith were thrilled to add them to the recent trip to which they went to. The mare of Equistat Elite $ 11 million Sire Metallic Rebell is not from the Catscratch sister (from WR This Cats Clever).
“She is very business and takes her job really seriously,” said Callahan about the mare. “It was a pleasure in the barn, so far we have really enjoyed her.”
Although Callahan won the NCHA Futurity Narrow Open for Yung Mula (Reyzin the Cash X Money Making Rose X Metallic Cat) in 2023, this is his first gigantic open championship. For him it is even something special that he was able to win his first show for C4 about the horse bought in Georgia.
“I've come to the show since I can remember. I always dreamed of Winnin on this show when our little child Austin Shepherd won all the time. And and I always wanted to be like that, ”said Callahan.
Callahan now joins a long list of his heros who won the Augusta Futurity, and he did this with his friends at his side.
“It was something very special for me and I had my friends with whom I grew up here, Cade Shepherd, my best friend. He helps me [in the herd] And I and he played around on this show, ”he said.
Their 222 -points in the final brought them the championship and a check of $ 30,000.
The newborn coach wanted to thank Kevin Smith in order to entrust him with such a good horse and all his friends and colleagues who had helped him win. He has plans to go to the IKE and all the gigantic NCHA events this year as long as it stays vigorous.
Reserve champion
Austin Shepard, Multiple Augusta -Futurity -Champion, was in Pink Floydd this year (Metallic Cat X CR Tuff Tizzy X Woody Be tuff). They marked 221.5 to take home at EUR 23,427 for the owner Billy Wolf from Whitesboro, Texas.
