Flat stallions on parade in Tattersalls

Caturra will parade in Tattersalls | Overbury Stud

Nine British Flat stallions will show ahead of the February sale at Tattersalls on Thursday January 30th.

“The Retraining of Racehorses charity is a hugely vital asset to the British racing and bloodstock industry and we hope the recent RoR Showcase at Tattersalls will celebrate both the talents and achievements of former racehorses in their second careers, as well as raise awareness “RoR plays a crucial role in ensuring their wellbeing,” said Edmond Mahony, chairman of Tattersalls.

“The Stallion Parade of newborn, UK-based stallions has been a star attraction at the Tattersalls February Sale for many years and the day provides an opportunity to introduce many vital aspects of the bloodstock industry to breeders, racing and equestrian enthusiasts.”

The event is also supported by the British European Breeders' Fund, which will provide refreshments throughout the morning.

British EBF chairman Simon Sweeting, who is supporting the parade with his Overbury Stud-based Caturra, said: “The British EBF’s £2 million annual contribution to racing’s prize money is largely funded by British stallions. When Tattersalls approached us about their plans for the parade, it made perfect sense for us to support and connect with them. It’s a great opportunity for breeders to see recent horses like Bradsell from the National Stud and stallions from further afield like Ubettabelieveit, El Caballo and Bangkok.”
