Fappani and Legend Slides Wright win the NRHA Futurity Non-Pro Championship

Tish Fappani and Legend Slides Wright • Photo by Kelsey PecsekOn Friday, December 4, the 2015 National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Futurity featured another invigorating day of competition to determine the 2015 Cinch Futurity Non-Pro Champions.

Tish Fappani won the 2015 Cinch Futurity Level 4 Non-Pro Championship with her three-year-old stallion Legend Slides Wright, taking home over $36,000 after a score of 220.5! Legend Slides Wright is a son of Custom Legend and She Slides Wright (by Astute Little Lena) and is a graduate of the 2014 Markel Insurance Futurity Prospect Sale. He and Fappani earned an additional $37,500 thanks to the NRHA Sale Incentive. Steve Worman, the consignor of Legend Slides Wright, received a check for $12,500. The stallion was nominated by Steven Simon, who received a check for $1,895 for the nomination.

Fappani also received a Bob's Custom saddle sponsored by Dubarry of Ireland, a Montana Silversmiths Custom Trophy Buckle sponsored by Jerry Kimmel Reining Horses, a Classic Equine product, a pair of Rios of Mercedes boots, a $300 SmartPak voucher, a Shorty's Cowboy Hattery certificate, a Bluebonnet feed product and utilize of a Sundowner trailer for one year provided by Twin Cities South Trailers.

The Level 4 Reserve Champion title, as well as the Level 3, 2 and 1 championships, went to William Rhoads and his mare Mega Maggie Mae. The crowd went wild as Rhoads and Mega Maggie Mae entered the arena, and the excitement built when her score of 219.5 was announced! The mare is by NRHA Three Million Dollar Sire Magnum Chic Dream and out of Cinco De Mega (by Martha's Mega Jac) and was nominated by Martin Bonneson, who received a check for $3,634. Rhoads took home a total check for $68,836, along with a Bob's Custom saddle, Montana Silversmiths Custom Trophy Buckle, Classic Equine Product, a pair of Rios of Mercedes boots, a $300 SmartPak certificate, a Shorty's Cowboy Hattery certificate and Bluebonnet Feed products.
