D Mac sold

Southland Gurtness Racing two -year -old Pacer D Mac (Downbytheside) was sold and will drive in Western Australia in the future.

The Colt, trained by Brad Morris, qualified on Central Southland Raceway at the beginning of this month and won his heat by three lengths.

“He was a matter of course from the first day. We only had to wait for him because we didn't want to push him too early. We only had three runs from the place. He had a training, a test and a race. I still think he has a lot of improvement in him,” said Morris.

D MAC debut thirteen days after his qualification in the same track. He was parked for the entire race and was shut down by Seaside Croft.

“He was rapid for the first little piece when he came back to me. I was more than satisfied with the way he settled, sat parked and went really well at the finish. He wanted to continue after the line, which is a good sign of the future.”

D Mac is named after all Black Damion McKenzie.

“He is one of my little boy's favorite player Charlie.”

D Mac is from the Washington VC Mare Flashonbye, which started twice for Morris for two seconds and two thirds. One of her thirds was in the group of three Nevele R at the Cheviot meeting.

“She also ran second to jump 1-56.”

Flashonbye at Stud has Sporty Charlie, the winner of Five and FlashbyTheaside, a virgin who is an older brother of D Mac.

“He (FlashbyTheaside) has four starts. He shared a pastor in January. It is on the better so that we can bring it back to work at the end of June. He is more of a time horse.”

D Mac's third dam Annmaryn has left good guys in Can Annie Go (5) and noble topic (7).

The classic topic was trained by Brad's grandfather Ron, who also trained chipaluck and won nine races, including the Modern Zealand Oaks 1985, the Ladyship Stakes and the Methven Cup.
