The charges against Frederick Bourgault accused him of the criminal mischief of “damaging” a race horse called “Finish Line”, which had an estimated value of at least 5,000 dollars.

It was said that Bourgault hit the horse with a difficult object that breeded his skull, which caused the house to be put to sleep.

The indictment was also charged with a disorder or violation of certain household animals, crime under state law, due to intentionally and unjustified violation or destruction of the animal.

The state police, the public prosecutor's office of the Orange district, the public prosecutor and the state gaming commission, examine death, including the exhumation of the remains of the animal and the examination of experts at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.

The State Gaming Commission made experts available and helped coordinating Bourgault's arrest by the state police.

“The attractive horse, which was the victim of the senseless tact of violence of this accused, deserves justice that was delivered in his name,” said district prosecutor David Hoovler. “As a civilized society, we will not allow to harm helpless animals.”
