Aveross Majesty the grass miracle

Veteran Trotter Aveross Majesty (Majestic son) Has an affinity for Gras Track racing races and yesterday he won his twelfth race and his Nineth on the grass.

The nine -year -old Squaregaiter, who started his career with Andrew Faulks as a three -year -old, was trained by his owner Denis O'Connell for most of his life, but is now under the care of Darryn Simpson.

“He was not 100%, so Denis sent him here for an environmental change. We had redesigned him in the day and he rounded out aluminums. We changed a bit of equipment and tried to make it as content as possible. He is better and better and got his confidence back,” said Simmpson.

Driver Sam Ottley settled Aveross Majesty in the last half of the field and was four inside with a box. She brought him from the inside and at 500 meters to run, he came four wide on the back of Diamond Harbor. He let himself down in the home route and exhibited a behind schedule challenge from Brian Beat to win with one nose.

“I think he's still well in the Grit. He will drive in Motukarara on this Easter Monday, and the plan is that he goes back to Denis.”

It is not the first time that Simpson trained a winner for O'Connell, including his Alf, his Elvis, Alexy and Vigoroso.

“He was probably one of my biggest supporters. He always had horses with me and the whole family was great. I have five or six horses from him up here at the moment.”

Simpson's first winner was Trotter Hannover Pride, whom he had in common with the behind schedule Viv Anngow, and 61 troters of his 107 winners were.

“It probably helped that I worked with Stuey Campbell, who was good with troters and Murray (Edmonds), was also great with troters.”

Simpson used to train in Forbury Park and Oamaru and is now in Motukarara.

“I have come here for two years now. I did my early days with Murray and Kelly Edmonds for three or four years. It was really good here and I have a lot of support. I am busy enough, things are good and probably get better.”

Simpson currently has nine horses in the works.
