Golden Pal tries to write history in BC Turf Sprint

Golden buddy Is ready to write history when he starts his third breeder cup in Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (G1T).

Already a two-time winner of the breeding Cup World Championships-Er won the 2020 Juvenile Turf Sprint (G2T) youth cup and the 2021 lawn sprint and the 4-year-old son of Uncle Mo Try to become the third horse, the three races of the Breeders' Cup wins, and the first man who performs this feat.

To put the bar in front of him were Goldikova the 2008-10 three consecutive running of the Breeders' Cup Mile (G1T) won and won Viewer who won the Juvenilies Stutfut (G1) in 2012 for the breeding of breeders and followed with two wins in the Breeders' Cup Distaffe (G1) in 2013 and 2016.

Golden Pal has shown this year that it has grown to the task. He started the year with a 4 3/4 length in the Shakertown Stakes (G2T) and went 5 1/2 Furlongs on the grass Keeneland. This race was his third win of the lawn sprint in the distance (also the distance of the lawn sprint of the Breeder 'Cup) in Keeland, which organizes this year's Breeders' Cup.

Trainer Wesley Ward was already an international traveler and sent the Colt back to England this year to deny the Royal Ascot Meet the King's Stakes (G1), and had to watch Golden Pals the only placed at the end of the year. Jockey Irad Oritz Jr. followed the golden Pal when he was apparently that he had no chance.

Owner and long -time partner Susan Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith as well as Westerberg have come together again in the States, in which Ward Golden Pal sent to Saratoga Race Course. He won the 5 1/2-Furlong Troy Stakes (G3T) and then conquered his fourth lawn sprint in Keeland in the Woodford Stakes presented by Fanduel (G2T) on October 8th.

On October 28th, Golden Pal made a “leg strudel” maintenance work in Keeland and let me know that he is ready.

“He is where we want it; it is a matter of maintenance,” said Ward. “Everything we needed was a little leg stretcher, and that was exactly what he did. I was pretty ecstatic when he came to the wire, he had both ears forward and you could see that he was in a high -ranking gallop.”

Ward said he knew that the race will contain some strenuous competitors overseas, but he is confident that his horse has the talent that is necessary to win.

“You have the fastest lawn horses from all over the world. But you know we are ready for you,” he said. “I have the fastest horse, so it's a question of happiness now.”
