Kentucky Derby winner sovereignty to avoid prevalence, Target Belmont Stakes

Sovereignty, winner of the Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve, will not run in the Preakness Stakes on May 17th at the Pimlico Race Course. Instead, he will be pointed out on the Saratoga Race Course on the Belmont Stakes on June 7th.

“We have received a call from coach Bill Mott today that sovereignty will not compete in the prevention. Bill informed us that they would point out the Belmont missions,” said Mike Rogers, Executive Vice President of 1/ST Racing, who runs Pimlico.

“We congratulate our congratulations on the connections of sovereignty and respect their decision. We continue to see the excitement for the milestone celebration of the 150th BEACHESS OFFERS and look forward to an incredible weekend with first-class races and entertainment.”

Aron Wellman, head of the group, who has Kentucky Derby Vizer-Up Journalism, said that the journalism of the group of Eclipse full blood partners said that the distance between sovereignty has no influence on their decision to lead the son of Curlin at the center of the triple crown on May 17th.

“As always, [trainer] Michael McCarthy and our group of owners will make our decision on the basis of what we are in the best interest of our horse, journalism, ”said Wellman. Journalism will return to the route in Churchill Downs tomorrow and we will monitor it every day when we look at his status for preakness.”

While every winner of Kentucky Derby from 1997-2018 in preakness, the third time in the last seven runs is marked that the run for the roses that Victor did not go into preakness no longer occurred.
