In an emotional week in the Victorian cadavity race, everything was hit for Pink Day on Sunday.
The marquee event marks the official start of speed for the Pink Month – a nationwide campaign that combines the cable harvest community in order to sharpen awareness and means for the McGrath Foundation and the support of breast cancer. And again the Shepparton and the Gurtrarschaft have developed into force.
In the ideal autumn conditions, hundreds gathered in the Shepparton Havess Racing Club to enjoy a family-friendly day with restaurants, brands, entertainment for children and of course action on the route to enjoy everything under a sea of pink.
This year's event felt special sharpness after the sudden death of Champion Rinsman and the popular industrial figure Greg Sugars the process a week ago. A minute was led by Bernard Saundry Bernard Saundry from Gurtracing Victoria, whereby the driver and trainer as an honorary guard to form Sugars as a sports enthusiast, mentor and ambassador of the code.

The support for the pink organizer Marg Watson, who has been driving behind the pace for Pink in 2011, continues to grow, with a record of 220 licensed drivers and 31 pony streams, which are sponsored for pink pants in May.
“The energy and generosity has something very special that the industry brings together every year,” said Watson.
“The reaction of companies, individuals and the industry – even in arduous times – was simply incredible.”

The day also marked the start of the recent Pink Pants Driver Challenge and gave both experienced and aspiring drivers the opportunity to compete from the route by gathering donations under their name. Each 5 dollar contribution corresponds to a virtual “profit” with great prices and all income that goes to the McGrath Foundation.
The mute auction again proved to win as a crowd powder with massive ticket articles such as horse services, household goods, memorabilia, hospitality experiences and rural supplies.

The feature event was on the track of the Olive Hayes Memorial Mares Pace, an event by the female driver, which was obtained by Stanhope coaching driver Lisa Pitt and her three-year-old Stutfalen and Bladen (blowingPeel).
Pony cunts were also a highlight of the day, and in addition to themselves, the children gave the older drivers their ponies for the event of the senior drivers. The Bendigo groove, Jack Laugher, even a former pony trots -child, achieved a comfortable victory.
Pink's titles aims to collect a record of $ 180,000 in 2025 -after reaching 150,000 US dollars last year -although the funds collected from the Shepparton event are still convicted that the great success of the day has undoubtedly included a flying start.
