Beebuck | With the warm approval of boundless podcast

Bee Buck, a freelance photographer for Churchill Downs, who shot six Kentucky derbies and two Breeders' cups, is the guest in the podcast organized by Jockey and veterinarians Ferrin Peterson this week.

Buck describes how she was a horse crazy child that made it to photograph polo matches. As a former art history student, she said that studying classical proportions had helped her to shape her photos and understand what she would like to shoot. “I long for constructive criticism,” she said. “If I have no constructive criticism that comes to me, I am like:” What do I do wrong? “I strive for” I want to get better “and” I want to be the best I can. What can I do to improve myself? “

Buck describes her photography style as a “granular sports artistics”.

“I really love to shoot the details about the race and do everything with races,” she said. “I love to shoot the bathrooms and really concentrate on the water and how it sprays on the horses and the movement – the flies of the dirt and the compact details that you don't see when you don't see it exactly.”

The unlimited podcast aims to present stories about resilience, risk to risk and endurance. The current episode is available on YouTube, Spotify and Apple podcasts.
