Take a look at the Triple Crown page of America's best racing to stay up to date on stories and statistics on the way to the Kentucky Derby.
1. Sovereignty
The coolmore fountain of the winner and Curlin Florida Derby, which was presented in second place by Hill 'N' Dale Farms on Xalapa, met last week from the Payson Park Training Center in Florida in Churchill Downs and recorded his penultimate training in front of the Breezing Five Furlong on May 3 on May 19. This was an encouraging solo train that he interrupted to gallop another Furlong in: 12.20. He trains and races in Churchill Downs. Remember that in his only local race appearance for five lengths over Tiztastic and Sandman in his minds last autumn last autumn.
2. Journalism
For all derby participants who have to be on the premises one week before the run for the roses, many of the horses not in the city are in Kentucky, including journalism this week. This is followed by a Saturday training in Santa Anita Park, in which he exceeds his work colleague, the girl claimed that the winner felt the magic with half a mile in: 47. He opened up at the gallop, no surprise from a stallion foal with such high class and endurance. In four routes, three of them, it is between 5 and 7 and 7 and 7 to move the Kentucky Derby in Annepost (Future Book).
(Note: Baeza, second-placed by journalism in Santa Anita Derby, is approaching the 20-horsepower field, although it is not yet in the race.
3. Tappan Street
Electrifying morning drilling in Payson Park-Sowie A second place in the holy bull insights that followed a sturdy performance in the Florida derby after a virgin victory in the Gulfstream Park, and he exceeded sovereignty by 1 ¼ lengths. He retained his lead in his subsequent training, which Challenging Aird Maiden winner exceeded in a 1-01.40 breeze on April 18 in Payson Park. His last breeze is said to come in Churchill Downs. One would expect that he will maintain its shape, although he is less sure to do this than the sovereignty that has already evaluated a win with five lengths via the local surface.
4. Sandman
Only a few horses appreciate the 1 ¼ mile route of the derby as a sandman, which was strongest over the publisher at the end of the 1 1/8 mile Arkansas derby in the Oaklawn Park in the Oaklawn Park. Despite Sandman, which was tardy after he had left most of his competition. If he can make such a silky journey into the Kentucky Derby how he came in the Arkansas derby, he will have a sturdy chance, but he will need a few breaks to get in his way. Jockey Jose Ortiz must follow others that offer and avoid offers to walk far. Sandman follows three more because they are 1: 5 in operations.
5. Luxor café
American racing fans are with Luxor Café, who, after two initial losses in Japan, a winning streak with four breeds on a series of profits with four breeds may not be familiar. In addition to the American Pharoah, the Triple Crown winner from 2015, he is no more than ready than the follies of Mare Mary. In 2009 she won the Ms. Revere Stakes at the grass in Churchill Downs before she has greater recognition as a brood mark. Mary's Follies produced the winner of the Night Prowler and Champions Regal Glory and Café Phaharoah. Night Prowler and Regal Glory stand out on lawn, but the Café Pharaoh like Luxor Café bloomed on dirt.
6. Burnham Square
Jockey Brian Hernandez Jr. was possibly the differentiator on board mystic dan in her close victory in the Kentucky Derby 2024. His urge to send this second place to send the fence to the fence in the second round, mysticism enabled more to save more soil than this 3-year-old, who close behind him. Can we expect such a trip from Hernandez on Burnham Square this year? Probably not. Despite its achievements, the Burnham Square is less a quick acceleration type as the winner of the Holy Bull Stakes and the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes. He tends to run far and gradually take horses.
7. Coal battle
Which horse can operate a floor saving if there is an starting position on the inside or middle of the field when the postal positions are drawn on April 26th? Maybe cabbage. A nimble sorting, this rapidly accelerating colt looks like the type that may be able to hit faster than other holes. The pace took the pace in its latest workouts and triggered half a mile in: 47.80 in Churchill Downs on April 22nd. Juan Vargas in Louisiana rides the coal battle in the derby, as he has in seven of the eight life of the Colts, including four wins.
8. Grande
Instead of giving Grande his last training in Churchill Downs, Hall of Fame coach Todd Plletcher, a two-time derby winner, is to spread the Wood Memorial Stakes from Resorts World Casino on April 25th in Keeland. The atmosphere there is more relaxed than in Churchill, and Pletcher has experienced success by working there horses and then sending elsewhere. Remember that violence won the 2023 Breeder's' Cup Juvenile in Santa Anita Park after the breeze in Keeland. In the Hall of Famer John Velazquez, Grande is to be driven in the derby, which officially achieved three victories in the course of the roses-a balance that does not count the Medina Spirit caused by Bob Baffert, who first crossed the wire in 2021, but was disqualified due to a medication.
9. Gold piece
The runner -up from Tiztastic on Twinires.com Louisiana Derby, since then he has trained in Turfway Park, the main training base for coach Ethan West, on the all -weather route. Half a mile there in: 49.40 Saturday was easily reached, and remember that this is a 3-year-old who is faster on dirt than in all-weather. His fastest races came far when he was second in Derby this winter and spring. As a yearling, a purchase of 2,500 US dollars is one of the Cinderella stories of this year's derby.
10. Citizen Bull
It would not be surprised that the youthful male scales from last year would see in the derby. He worked on Saturday without equipment in Santa Anita Park and stumbled in an exceeded work colleague to spread six Furlongs in 1: 11.80. His six-time derby coach, Bob Baffert, seems to be experimenting, Citizen Bull at the pace. He also wants him to be fitter for this race as if he is fourth in the Santa Anita. The latter race marked its first start in two months and he seemed to withdraw when another horse ran early and prevented him from bringing his usual position on the lead.
11. Tizastic
The ninth derby in the past week has two places in the ranking after being revised by his Storytate Verlag in one: 59.60 five-furgong breeze on Saturday in Churchill. These two were more the same match in a common breeze at 1: 00.80 per week. Based on what you did in the afternoon, the general performance of Tiztastic is greater than that of the publisher, who, despite his much-finished second-placed one in the Arkansas derby after seven starts, is still a virgin. In Tizstic's top racers he won the 1 3/16 miles louisiana derby.
12. American promise
Before sending American promises from Arkansas to Kentucky, the four-time derby winner D. Wayne Lukas gave this stallion a demanding seven-furgonian goal training in Oaklawn Park, which had moved the American promise from the opening steps on the runs for the roses. The American promise that his colleague in the Furlongs after a quick early breach before completing his driver's harvest several times in 1: 25.20 felt the harvest of his driver several times. His best races, highlighted by his success record victory in the Virginia Derby, came after the 1: 2 miles of 1: 2.
