Brennan wants to create his own Albion Park History

The huge Wondais buddy is one of the various Pacer who stands out in Michael Brennan's head when he thinks about growing up on the Darling Downs and participating in the races in the Albion Park.

Many decades after the sparkling career of Wondai's buddy, Brennan will get his own chance to create a story in Brisban's first -class cable harness in the coming years.

Previously based in Western Australia, while he has prepared his stable, the conditioner awarded with Group 1 has shifted with the Inter-Dominion Prize across the country.

It will first be Pinny Tiger, from whom he hopes that he can imitate some of his favorites like Wondai's buddy.

The barn should also have a production line of bright youthful horses after they were recently employed all over the country.

The 49-year-old took a detour into hockey for a huge part of his life, but has landed back in his home state for the code in which he grew up.

“In those days we had tracks at Toowoomba,” Brennan recalls.

“I used to come to Albion Park with my father and a few boys with whom I played hockey.

“I still like to remember that I wanted to see Champion horses like Wondais Mate and others in the Albion Park. They are some of my favorites ever.

“My uncle Clive was a gallop trainer at Toowoomba, and I got a good deal in the stables, and I remember that I went to the races in the transport route at the time.

“I've always been a very enthusiastic horse race.”

Wondi's buddy is one of the best Pacers from Queensland and ended his racing career with the remarkable record of 121 starts for 73 wins, 34 placements and $ 456,536 in Prizemoney.

In recent years, the Albion Park Club has given a race in the honor of Wondais Mate and has always been fiercely contested by the carnival.

Wondais Kumpel collected a total of 43 victories in Albion Park and was later included in the Racing Hall of Fame in Queensland.

Brennan will have a team of around 20 Pacers in the Sunshine State.

Brennan's current stable star Pinny Tiger drove throughout Australia throughout his career in the group company and claimed victory in WA in WA in his four -year season.

With the Queensland Constellations and the Inter -Dominion championship on the horizon in 2025, the trainer is hopeful that Pinny Tiger can compete against the best.

“He is a proven horse of group 1,” said Brennan.

“He went on really well and I am very satisfied with how he comes.

“Hopefully he will start in mid -May and he is definitely the type of horse that really sets Queensland's race. Everyone knows about their gate speed – he has a sparkling speed.

“Only the opportunity to train him here in this property, there are still a few options with his training program. He is the one that I am most ecstatic about.”

Brennan also recruited Kiwi driver Korbyn Newman for his team in Queensland.

The 25-year-old Newman has around 80 winners in his home country and recently shifted over the ditch.

The team has teamed up with a few starters and experiments in Queensland in the past few weeks because their presence is increasing on race day.

On Wednesday evening they snapped their first winner together in “The Triangle” when Ultimate Miki conveniently landed.

“It was a good opportunity to show up, it is something else because I think I needed a change,” said Newman.

“I offered a change and here I am.

“Obviously, Michael did a good job and trained the winners of Group 1 and did a really good job with his horses.

“When he called me, he was bloody to talk and it seemed at the moment.”

Newman also tried training in Modern Zealand with its greatest triumph event of $ 100,000.

He has been behind Pinny Tiger since the 20-time winner.

“He was good, I had to drive him the other day and he got great,” said Newman.

Brennan and his group of owners under the direction of Joshua Davine from N40 Racing were lively at the youngest Sunshine Stars Yearling sales and aim to be vital players on the Qbred front in the coming years.

The trainer first addressed the idea of a return to the Sunshine State when he crossed in January to inspect a property in Biddaddaba.

“When we saw the place, it was made – it was pretty momentary,” said Brennan.

“As soon as we drove over the hill and looked down over the property, it is an incredible property.

“Josh gave us a great opportunity; we have now settled in and are very much looking forward to what is ahead of us.”

While Brennan made a name for himself at speed, it was another game for which he left Queensland to pursue his dreams as a teenager from toowoomba.

He won two Olympic medals for Australia in men's hockey: bronze in 2000 and gold in 2004.

The midfielder of Queensland retired to Sydney, but returned to sport and was instrumental in the success of Athens, which was the first gold medal in Australia in men's hockey.

The leading racing event in Australasia will lead the queensland carnival for the next three years.

In a huge coup, the Inter -Dominion Championship will designate the Sunshine State Home from 2025 to 2027, which acts as the heart for the most stimulating and creative winter carnival in the country.

Brennan says that finding a home in Queensland is “critical” for his decision to move, “critical”.

“I think the cadavity race and race in Queensland definitely runs on the right trajectory,” he said.

“We were very involved in the sale this year this year.

“The temptation of the three Inter -Dominion Carnivals in the next three years has also tempted us to find the decision.”
