Snowden's Slipper Pass creates a memo that is worth it

By Ray Hickson

Coach Peter Snowden is confident that his decision to miss the golden slipper with Memo was the right one and hopes that he will pay dividends on Saturday.

A place in the slipper was there for Memo when she stormed to victory, her first in the Magic Night in the week before the two -year classic, but Snowden already had an eye on the group of $ 1 million.

With the time to survive this victory under exhausting conditions, he says that he presents a fresh horse.

“A few things came to my mind before I called the call, but when it was a sizzling day, it was tough to support them afterwards,” said Snowden.

“That was the greatest reason. She had a few weeks to get over it and she has it.

“Since she was between the runs for three weeks, I wanted her not to be too fresh, she can be hot and it takes the finish.

“It was a nice little test last Friday in Rosehill to stick to the brand, so I'm satisfied with her. It's just a perfect timing for her.”

What Snowden does not want in the Percy Sykes can be in the back of the pack for Memo, 9.50 US dollars with Tab on Thursday, near the pack when she was in Rosehill.

And if it is in a more striking position, the trainer is the confident memo, which is necessary to play a role in the result.

“A midfield spot three couples back would be the perfect place,” he said.

“I don't want to be too close and not be too far back. She recently made a long run and got away with it, but she may not be able to do the same on Saturday.

“She has a very good chance. It's a very even race and I'm more than satisfied with where it is.”

Coco Jamboo is preparing for a defense of her Hawkesbury Crown title next month when she joined Tashi in group 2 $ 300,000 cincotta chemists Sapphire Stakes (1200 m).

The only Australian victory of the mare was still in this race in May, but she showed that three weeks ago she gets back on the track in the birthday card in Rosehill.

“She had a few indifferent runs in Brisbane, but since she was back, she was in her work, a great run the other day, and when she is in the zone and runs well, she holds her shape,” said Snowden.

“It will be competitive, but it is undoubtedly that she is looking for.

“They are very well under the conditions for the defined weights. They tick well and they both go well.”

Tashi was refreshed in third place behind Amelias Juwel in the Guy Walter Stakes six weeks ago.

In the meantime, Snowden also has a Hawkesbury goal for Fearless if he can improve South Pacific Classic (1400 m) in the listed $ 200,000 bisy work clothing.

The stallion foal took sixth place behind the autumn lights when it was resumed on slide day. As he pulled the outside, he is expected to have any effects.

“His run was not bad and it turned out about 100 m,” said Snowden.

“Since then he has an exam, a few good gallops, and has intensified. He did the work to go well, and I hope he is going well enough to go to the Hawkesbury guinea.”
