Moira has a credible run down, five lengths in the 14th

Moira's Australian debut was not too successful, but the Canadian horse of the year and the Eclipse award winner will surely go forward if it takes another run.

Moira was now owned by Yulong Investments and was trained by the leading Australian conditioner Chris Waller and was on the Royal Randwick RaceCourse in a forceful field for group 1 Doncaster Mile in the early Saturday morning, the eastern time. It was her first run since she won the Breeders' Cup Futh & Mare Turf (G1) in the del Mar for Woodbine coach Kevin Attard and owner X-Men Racing, Madaket Stall and SDF Bloodstock.

From there, Moira went to quarantine, then to England, to train and finally to Australia.

In the Doncaster, Moira raced right hand for the first time, shortened up to a mile and tried out a course that was listed as “good” after the post-time. Surprisingly, Moira had from 18 to 1 to about 6 to 1, saddle towel 10, and it was behind a modest pace for the duration of the race in the back of the field. Moira took 14th place, but almost five lengths behind the winner Stefi Magnetica.

“She lost a bit before smoothing and lost her rhythm,” said Moira's Jockey Zac Purton. “But it will go well, she only takes time to settle down.”

Moira is nominated for two other group 1 in Sydney, although both are next weekend.

Noble mare Stefi Magnetic Gave coach Bjorn Baker and Jockey Jason Collett the greatest victory of their career when they claimed the 4 million dollar group 1 to Royal Patronage and Capap. The time for the race was 1: 35.28.

The favorite linacker of 5.50 US dollars returned too far in a sluggish race before running home to reach outside the places.

The victory was the fourth Stefi Magnetica start of 20 starts and took over their income to more than 5.6 million US dollars.

The four-year-old mare of All Ther Tough is now a two-time winner of Group 1, who last year won the largest race of Queensland, the Stradbroke handicap.
