No laughing matter as a Dee Roe is a solemn cup hope

Highly talented Wimmera Pacer Dee Roe (Art major) seems to be an significant player in today's (April 4) 30,000 US dollar Barry Bottams Mildura Havess Racing Club Paming Cup, and the connections of the horse often laugh about how everything comes about.

The coach driver Aaron Dunn gives his other partial owner Helen Freund the honor, “Freddy”, also known as Dee Roe, to select the yearling sales.

“After a few drinks last night, I had a demanding time and we hiked around to check all horses, and Helen just stopped and pointed to Dee Roe and shouted: 'This is one'!” he said.

“He looked good and I liked his breeding, so I asked if Helen would have a share in me. She nodded and said yes, she would come in.”

Helen accepts the story and said Aaron shot with bids that quickly rose to $ 58,000, and he showed no signs of slowing down!

“I actually think I was pretty relieved when he got Dee Roe for $ 62,000. I didn't know how far we went! I decided that we should talk well beforehand if we made our way to future sales,” she joked.

“Aaron still reminds me of the expression I had on my face, but since then we have had a lot of good laugh about it!”

Dee Roe has proven with 12 wins and six placements of 30 races as an outstanding money spinner for prize money of over $ 65,000-and now it shows no signs of slowing down!

In Hamilton in January, Dee Roe engraved the name Dunn for the first time on a country cup (despite the group 1 and group 3 group in its name) – and the whole will have a massive word in the result of the Mildura feature.

Helen, who also lives in Horsham, said the couple has known each other for about 25 years.

“He worked and worked with his grain cleaning business – I never knew that someone works so demanding, so it's great to see how he enjoys his horses,” she said.

Helen said she was persuaded years ago by a former work colleague in Tamara Lane to buy a standard bred years ago.

“I had an Arabic horse butter and hesitated. Tamara suggested that we get a pacemaker, get a syndicate and have fun,” said Helen.

“A pacer named Dreamworks was advertised for sale and had no idea what I looked at. In the end we bought it.

“Then someone suggested D'Arne Bellman (Michael's mother) as a good trainer, so our syndicate, 10 of us from Grampians Wimmera Mallee Water, agreed and we won about seven races.

“Tamara and I bought the others and now share a foal-on-foal basis. There were 11 or 12 foals, and all were winners with the exception of the last wild radic (Shadow play) that were injured.

“Time capsule (Superior) was a lovely horse that won 11 races, and in the middle we breeded a trotter named Redy (race (raceRed River Hannover) (9 victories) that was unpredictable but had that much ability.

“Wild Radich gave me the third generation of wild ideal and jillbanger rose, both of whom are of American ideal And both trained by Aaron. They each won a few races and are still very well played, so that the Dreamworks dynasty lives on.

“We intend to keep this line going because we now have a mighty emotional bond – we all had so much fun.”

But Helen's immediate attention is Dee Roe, who, despite his barrier, is listed in the NSW 3yo Catchafire (Jackson Painting) in the Tacing Cup final as the same favorite.

“I will be in Mildura and hopefully cheer and hopefully he will run a massive race.”

Further mighty opportunities for the saving of Catalpa for Shane Sanderson, who tries to conquer his third Mildura depth cup with Southwest Victorian Pacer Teenage Bluey (Mattie Craven).

Charlton Joe was rolled (Joey Thompson) will aim to repeat the huge efforts to win the second qualification on Tuesday evening, and a chance of $ 14.
