This is an edition of Daily morning -e mail from racing post's good morning Bloodstock What comes out every weekday morning. It was presented on the Racing Post website on January 19. In this issue, Martin Stevens talks to Ciarán de Barra by Diamond Stud Bellewstown about his pride and joy.
The sales talk of Ciaráan de Bar for his modern father Maries diamond Was long and detailed in detail, but this week has grown again since the horse's full brother Sindorian won in the debut in the Wolverhampton on January 16.
“It does seven foals, seven runners and seven winners for the mare,” the ebully -new participant shines in the stallion business. “It was bought by Ballylinch Stud for € 315,000 ($ 385,067), and another of her sons, Sikandarabad, was group 1 in Australia.
If the success of a stallion depended exclusively on the energy of its owners, Maries Diamond would be a champion many times. De Barra, who brought a similar drive and commitment to his previous role as management assistant to the Irish National Stud, even named his modern stud after the horse.
“I bought Diamond Stud Bellewstown in 2021,” he says. “It was in the harvest after I had to do a little work before I arrived to bring it back to the grass.
“So I thought what I need now is a stallion and went out and bought Maries Diamond. It will only go on foot this year, because I only have the stallion boxes, the stable next to you and the cover sheds.
“All of my mares are currently on land that I rented five minutes away. Hopefully next year I will be able to foal some external mares on the farm. This is the next job on the list.”
Steps The father of 17 harvest to date. De Barra said that he had some people in question, Maries Diamond, a two-time mission winner who set up a 7-8-8 record from 65 starts, but he questions the certificates of the doubters.
Steps
“Yes, I saw some of them, people can be quite livid,” says de Barra with unusual despair before he gather and adds with his more common elated view: “I notice that most of them have no names or profile pictures. I would like to see their mares!
“How could someone say that a horse does not earn a chance for stud? He is a beauty; he has the same RPR as Havana Gray and shows, and higher than Obscure Angel, Kodiac and Mahmas. He was also incredibly solid, which is an invaluable quality in thoroughbred and is valued by breeders.
“I am confident that he will have winners because he has so much to offer. It is only up to me to make sure that he has the soldiers on the ground.
“As I look at it, I am common and the farm is common at the moment, but the horse is exceptional. I really think so.”
De Barra may describe itself as usual, but his bravery to take over the giants of the stallion world, and the exuberance is also exceptional. More power for him.
