2025 Sam F. Davis Stakes at a glance

The street from Tampa Bay Downs to the Kentucky Derby, presented by Woodford Reserve, starts on Saturday with Sam F. Davis Stakes. Sam F. Davis is a springboard to the Lambholm South Tampa Bay Derby on March 8th and is also a solid step towards a starting place 5 finisher in the 1 1/16 mile inserts.

1. Camp Hale (20-1 Morgenline profit chances): He became second in all three career starts. Rarely for a virgin to win an assignment, but it is more likely at a newborn age. He was second to Mucho Macho Man Stakes winner who was invited, so that it may be out of the question to find out in the exoticians.

JOCKEY: Brian J. Hernandez Jr.; TRAINER: Ian Wilkes

2. Treaty of Rome (6-1): Nice for the second in the Macho Macho Man Stakes and missing from a neck. Seems to get better with every start and should be a top candidate.

JOCKEY: Dylan Davis? TRAINER: Chad brown

3. John Hancock (3-1): Was a acute debut winner over the route, which is always helpful. Extends from 6 ½ Furlongs to 1 1/16 miles, but has the family tree for it. Deserves forceful consideration.

JOCKEY: Flavien Prat; TRAINER: Brad Cox

4. Dr. Ruben M (12-1): Tired and finished fourth in Remington Park Springboard Mile after pressing the pace. Should be in or near the tour, but this distance may not.

JOCKEY: Junior Alvarado; TRAINER: Doug O'Neill

5. Street Seeper (30-1): Another girl after two attempts. Has a second and a third, but the slower of the two girls seems.

JOCKEY: David Cohen; TRAINER: S. Jade Cunningham

6. Owen Allmächter (2-1): The finish line first crossed the Pasco inserts, but was disqualified and fifth for disorders. Set a quick pace in the seven-furgongong Pasco and can find the softer factions here according to your wishes.

JOCKEY: Irad Ortiz Jr.; TRAINER: Brian Lynch

7. Poster (4-1): He won his debut while he remained unbeaten when he took the Remsen Stakes, which has become an critical race for 2-year-olds. Shows a bullet training on this track and seems to be a acute attempt here.

JOCKEY: Antonio Gallardo; TRAINER: Eoin Harty

8. Naughty Rascal (6-1): Was declared the winner of Pasco after the disqualification of the Almighty of Owen. Has never been worse than the third in six career starts, but the distance can be a bit long for him.

JOCKEY: Edwin Gonzalez; TRAINER: Gerald Bennett

9. Smoking boy (20-1): Celebrates his US debut after the race in Puerto Rico. I won an insert with 9 ¼ lengths last time, but it is complex to assess how it fits in here.

JOCKEY: Paco Lopez; TRAINER: Jose d'Angelo

10. Very brave (20-1): Moved to second place in Pasco, but was almighty 5 1/2 lengths behind Owen. Additional distance will facilitate him, but he has drawn a tough post.

JOCKEY: Jesus Castanon; TRAINER: Eoin Harty

The choice: Treaty of Rome

Live Longshot: Camp Hale

Superfecta: 2-7-3-6
