Two more qualifiers for the $30,000 Trotters Series

Two more trotters have qualified for the $30,000 final of the Seddon Districts Bob Rochford Memorial Trotters Series at Addington on March 21 after winning the last two harness racing heats at Marlborough.

Waterlea Raceway held its two-day meeting on turf on January 17 and 19, with Regal Sierra winning the Seddon Shields Series Handicap Trot on day one and then finishing second to Helloveamoment in the Seddon Shields 2025 Marlborough Trotters Cup. The Mark Jones-trained and Sam Ottley-driven Helloveamoment paid $22 for the win and came home by a narrow margin.

So far seven runners have secured their place in the final and there are only two races left – Westport on March 7th and Reefton on March 9th.

The seven are Regal Sierra, Helloveamoment, High Step, Masterly, Premium Player, Ready Set Jet and Knowing Me. The final will consist of 16 participants. Behind them on the leaderboard are the duo Tu Tangata and El Conqueror, trained by Paul Nairn, with 13 and 12 points respectively.
