The eye-catching debut winner Justique goes far in “Cluster”.

CRK Stable's justice a quick-finishing, impressive first-out winner who seems better suited to routing performs among seven teenage fillies, each set to attempt two rounds for the first time, in the $200,000 Chandelier Stakes (G2) on Oct. 8 Santa Anita Park.

The winner of the 1 1/16-mile Chandelier, a win-and-get-in Breeders' Cup Challenge qualifier, will receive a paid berth in the Nov. 4 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) for $2 million Keeneland.

Justique was trained by John Shirreffs and ridden by Victor Espinoza. In her 5 1/2 Round of 16 debut on July 31, Justique got off snail-paced and didn't have an early foot seabut did her best in the back corner and won with confident ease while trailing the next winner by about three lengths Home cooking in an eye-catching performance.

Triple Crown winner until 2018 Justify from the Bernardini mare Thanks, MillieJustique sold out of Glenwood Farm consignment to Mayberry Farm for $725,000 at the 2021 Keeneland September Yearling Sale. She is a half-sister of Mon Town (Uncle Mo ), winner of the 2016 Remsen Stakes (G2) and the 2017 Hollywood Derby (G1T), both at 1 1/8 miles.

Two other candidates – the one trained by Peter Miller And tell me, Nolies and the one trained by Bob Baffert Home cooking – get a rematch from their last meeting, the Del Mar Debutante Stakes (G1) on September 10th. In this race, And Tell Me Nolies tracked down her rival with a furious comeback on the home straight and ultimately won by a margin. Home Cooking may have gotten a little tired after taking the lead early in the round.

<p>Shirreffs skipped the Del Mar Debutante with Justique to wait for the chandelier.</p>
<p>And Tell Me Nolies, owned by Peter Redekop, is from <span class=Arrogant from the graded winner Exchange rate mare Be fair .

Mike Pegram, Karl Watson and Paul Weitman's Home Cooking, a 9 1/4 length first winner over 5 1/2 furlongs on August 21, were then 3-5 favorites in the Del Mar Debutante before being defeated delayed. The Chandelier will also reunite her with Justique, who won the July 31 debut for both fillies.

Huntingcoco the second of two Baffert entrants, was a brilliant maiden winner over 5 1/2 furlongs on September 4, winning by 6 3/4 lengths and posting a Chandelier-best Equibase speed score of 84 in the last out. Baffert won the Chandelier 12 times.

Huntingcoco is a Pennsylvania-bred filly from Villa Rosa Farm and Harlo Stable Practical joke from Maria's Mon mare Sulis .

Ice dance a home-bred Bass Stables bitch, is making her third start. Trained by Richard Mandella, the daughter of Matted came third in both starts – the race was won by And Tell Me Nolies.

Mike Powers' Naughty Lottie makes its debut in California. From Scarlet Emerald (Desert Party), Naughty Lottie won at first sight Louisiana Downs and then came third at prairie meadows in the Prairie Meadows Debutante Stakes. Midnight sounds Justin's daughter is trained by Justin Jeansonne. Jeansonne purchased Naughty Lottie for Powers at the 2022 Ocala Breeders' Sales' Spring Sale from Paul Edged's consignment for $17,000.

The field is rounded off by Repole Stable's Uncontrollable . Purchased for $130,000 at the OBS Spring Sale earlier this year, the Michael McCarthy-trained filly has a maiden win and a runner-up finish in the Generous Portion Stakes in two starts, both at Del Mar. The daughter of upstart racing outside of the California-based company for the first time.
