Nagirroc returns to the future after his first victory

Madaket Stables, Little Red Feather Racing and Bill Strauss' Nagirroc will make his stakes debut after a two-week break on Oct. 9 in the $150,000 Futurity (G3T), a six-eighths-mile outdoor turf sprint for youth, at Belmont in the Large A fall meet.

The Futurity, which offers the winner a spot in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1T) on November 4th Keeneland as part of the Breeders' Cup Challenge series, is one of three ranked events on Sunday's card Aqueduct race trackwhich also includes the $250,000 Beldame Stakes (G2) and the $150,000 Knickerbocker Stakes (G3T).

Nagirroc, a brown son of Leah finished second by 3 1/2 lengths in the race at Aqueduct for trainer Graham Motion on September 24th. This was followed by a debut as second at Horseshoe Indianapolis for trainer Jim Corrigan and other owners. Both races were turf sprints.

“Since I got him, he looks pretty dapper in the morning,” Motion said. “I haven't had him that long and I've been impressed with what he's done, but I certainly didn't expect him to go the way he did. I thought it was a very good performance. He won very comfortably.” “

Nagirroc will be ridden by Manny Franco from post 2.

Louis Lazzinnaro and Michael Dubb inflation nation will look to build on last win in his second career start for coach Christophe Clement. An Irish-raised son of Speightstown Inflation Nation was defeated by a head in his debut in a maiden race on July 22 with a sprint over 5 1/2 furlongs Saratoga Race Track. The winner of this race, Evaluate went on to record a second place finish in the Pattison Summer Stakes (G1T). honeysuckle two starts later.

“He did everything right. He’s a pretty horse,” Clement said. “We’ll see if he can make the jump to the top. He’s training forward and looks robust.”

NBS Stables Dunedin arrives at the Futurity as the only competitor with a win against winners on his resume. Dunedin was trained by Kelsey Danner and recently finished with a half-length victory over stakes-placed Roman giant in a restricted permit that traveled 6 1/2 furlongs on September 8th Kentucky Downs. The son of Munnings recovered strongly from 8 1/2 lengths behind to take his first win in his third start.

Regular driver Joseph Rocco Jr. retains the lead from Post 1.

Conditioner Mike Maker will be represented by two competitors at Paradise Farms: David Staudacher, Skychai Racing and Angelo Carlesimo Gaslight dancers and Three Diamonds Farm's Bourbon therapy .

Rounding out the field are the efforts of Tee N Jay Stable and trainer Kent Sweezey Power attack ; Sleeping Giant Stables, America's Pastime Stables and KimDon Racing's first winner Holiday dance ; and the award-winning filly from D Hatman Thoroughbreds Determined fool which is confused in the October 8 Matron (G3T) at Aqueduct.

The Futurity is scheduled as Race 6 on Sunday's nine-race card.

“Brown Trio Leads Knickerbocker Attack.”

Later on the card, four-time Eclipse Award-winning trainer Chad Brown will start Public sector , L'Imperator And Lonely refugee He's aiming for his third consecutive points finish in the $150,000 Knickerbocker, a 1 1/8-mile indoor turf test for children ages 3 and up.

Brown, who captured this event in 2020 Devamani and last year with Holy life will look to get Klaravich Stables' multiple graded stakes winner back on track in the public sector after posting a record of 0-0-3 in five starts this year.

The trio of public sector third-place finishes this season were achieved in Class 3 events over a mile.

“He hasn’t really improved this year like I thought he would,” Brown said. “I don’t know that I managed him as well as I could have with some of the positions that were chosen for him. I still believe in the horse and hope he gets back on the right track here.”

Public Sector wins the 2021 Hill Prince Stakes at Belmont Park

Madaket Stables, Wonder Stables and Robert V. LaPentas graded stakes winner L'Imperator will look to improve on his seventh-place finish in the event last year.

John D. Gunther and Eurowest Bloodstock Services' Lonely refugee a 5 year ancient Zoffany Bay, will make his stakes debut with a neck score in a 1 1/16-mile release optional and claim the tilt over firm ground on August 19 Monmouth Park.

Wertheimer and Frere Pao Alto a Group 2 overseas winner now trained by Motion leads the opposition, along with multiple graded stakes winner Three Diamonds Farm Field pass and stakes winner from Nice Guys Stables King cause both trained by Maker.

Godolphins Pixelate and WellSpring Stables' Unthreatening conduct Add more talent to the lineup.

Rounding out the field is Mark B. Grier's graded stakes winner eons for trainer Arnaud Delacour and Flying P Stable and James F. Schurman's stakes winner Dynadrive for trainer Tom Morley.
