2024 AQHA Top Money-Earning Ranching Heritage Breeders

The American Quarter Horse Association recognizes W. T. Waggoner Estate of Vernon, Texas, as the 2024 AQHA Top Money-Earning Ranching Heritage Breeder of the Year.

AQHA Ranching Heritage Breeder W. T. Waggoner Estate bred earners of $8,982 in 2024. In recognition of the achievement, W. T. Waggoner Estate received a certificate for a custom saddle by Don Prosperous Saddlery.

W. T. Waggoner Estates’ leading earner of the year was Seven S Tuff Boots, who earned $5,920.50 in the 2024 AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenges. The 2016 sorrel mare is by Blind Sided out of My Boots Are Tuff by Woody Be Tuff.

The second-place Top Money-Earning Ranching Heritage Breeder was awarded to the horses bred by the Center Ranch of Centerville, Texas, earning $8,797; third went to horses bred by Burnett Ranches LLC of Guthrie, Texas, earning $8,515. Finishing fourth was Cowan Select Horses LLC of Harve, Montana. Cowan’s horses picked up $8,061. Fifth among the leaders was R. T. Stuart Ranch LLC of Waurika, Oklahoma, whose horses earned $7,373. 

Ranching Heritage-bred horses are versatile, sound and willing American Quarter Horses able to perform well at a variety of tasks. These horses are produced by AQHA Ranching Heritage Breeders, which are working cattle ranches that have produced horses for at least a decade for exploit on the ranch. 

The AQHA Ranching Heritage Program recognizes these horses and provides them a showcase with the AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenges, as well as Top Ranching Heritage-Bred Horse recognition at various national events. Anyone can purchase and show an AQHA Ranching Heritage-bred horse.
